Hmm...the calendar on my fridge ends December 31, 2009. Do you think the world will end at that time.

I don't thinks so. A Calendar not continuing is not a reason to think the world is ending

People are always saying this. What does it actually mean? Is it going to be a bit brighter during the day or something?

Hi, I think this is time for a new beginning, a new era of light, the ancient cultures predicted a new era of consciousness and awakening. I read this and more in Wisdom of the Heart book by Flora Rocha.

What about the solar system crossing over the middle of the galaxy plane? Even if it is predicted that Dec. 21, 2012 is when the event takes place, the alignment from an observation is based on what we see from light - and how long does it take for the light to get here. We may have already crossed it and won't see it then.

Also, the meeting of the solar wind and galactic wind at the Bow Shock region of our solar system would experience the worse part of it first and we see any light from that region quicker because it's closer. Then the light from the core of the galaxy takes years to get here. According to NASA, the outer planets have been experiencing a warming effect, this will eventually pushed back solar gaseous debris and caused a warming here (or already in progress).

It if happens, it happens, you can't change it, just sit back and experience the cycle.

Maybe it only goes up to that date because someone invaded them before they could finish it.

They thought they wouldn't need to go up that far so stopped.

Calendars or really a crop growing guide?

But like the Mayans the ancient Greeks seem to have had an edge on the Mayans:

In 1901, divers working off the isle of Antikythera found the remains of a clock like mechanism 2,000 years old. The mechanism now appears to have been a device for calculating the motions of stars and planets by Derek J. de Solla Price

I recently took psilocybin and had a wild vision of the Maya galactic butterfly rotating in my head. It was powerful.

My thought is that the bottom line is love. Love, love, love. There is so much hate and destruction in the world --- by 2012 we need to balance the scale. In my opinion, this means letting go of self-righteousness, and letting go of the hate and contempt held for the haters who run the planet. Leave them be. By 2012 there needs to be a balance, love is contagious, and once you start to cultivate it all the time, it's impossible to stop. And on top of it all, it's a happy thing to feel!

Love, love, love. Love is all you need.

Mayan Calendar

I don't know if this has been raised already but the Mayans were a race that were wiped out a long time ago by the Spanish Conquistadors. But some documents that were not burned by the Conquistadors were discovered, including a calender. This, and all other Mayan calendars found all ended at 21/12/2012.
There have been many theories from some rather ridiculous alien invasion stories to a more credible space phenomena. This space phenomena is described as an electro-magnetic wave that will wipe out our technology system and send the civilized world (Barely!) descending into the chaos of a new dark age.
I don't know if this is of any interest to anyone but it is just me saying, there are more possibilities than a giant comet to rival the leviathan of space that wiped out the Dinosaurs.
