Hi there, 2012ers!

Hello!

My name is Jib, and I've been interested in the Mayan prophecy of Twenty-Twelve since 2006. Though, I didn't really dive quite deep into it until late 2007, and even then I was still afraid of having a deep discussion about for it. For I have been eschatophobic since early childhood, so naturally I would avoid any topics about "apocalypses", but in this year of 2009 I've finally overcame that fear. Though I still am and always fear the Apocalypse, at least I'm not too worried about it like I once was long ago.

Personally, I don't think an apocalypse will occur in 2012, but instead a renewed enlightenment. I know I sound very New Age like by stating that, but if the Mayan Calendar marks the start of a new era, it is possible that it will be a new era of enlightenment. Even the ancient Maya, along with many other ancient civs, predicted that there will be a great change in consciousness at some point in the future. That is something I can actually look forward to instead of dread!

Aside from all of that, I am a listener to Coast To Coast AM with George Noory, which I like to listen to when I have the chance and if the episode covers an interesting topic. I like how Noory interviews people who research in such areas as: the paranormal, cryptozoology, ufology, aliens, conspiracies, prophecies, spirituality, ancient lore, 2012, and eschatology. I'm also a reader of Howard Phillips Lovecraft, with my favorite story of his being The Call of Cthulhu. Some say there just "might" be a connection among Lovecraft's writings, the Bloop, and 2012. Finally, I'm a big fan of movies, with my favorite Youtube movie critics being Don & Murph.

Not to mention that I first heard about the 2012 Phenomenon on the very last episode of The X-Files, which I was a fan of as a kid in the 90's.

Well, that is my introduction! If any of you would like to know more about me, please feel free to ask questions.

Sincerely, Jib

P.S.

If any of you wouldn't mind, would you please vote for me in the IHC's Election? I'm one of the finalists, and I would really like to win that trip to see the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza! The Maya are my favorite ancient civ, and therefore, getting to set foot in one of their ancient cities would be the opportunity of a lifetime. 8) I'll even post pictures and Youtube videos of Chichen Itza here if I win. So please vote for me at the following: http://www.instituteforhumancontinuity.org/vote/peters
