Hi posters,

My father was a satellite tracker during the 1960s and 1970s at Sheriff's Lench, operating with a few other colleagues, the Schmidt-Hewitt camera that is now resident in The Woomera Range - W. Australia. I remember going to work with him one day, and being quite overcome watching this huge beast being wheeled out into the daylight from out of a cover, and the drone it made as the lens shifted skywards.

I can recall taking a glass plate to school with a comet on it, little realising what I was doing fully at the time!

I did later. It was 'Bennett's Comet' (2.4.1970) AZ 65degrees EL 10degrees At 02.52 GMT!

Always had an interest ever since in the cosmos.

I inadvertantly stumbled on this site but glad I did.

I think the lounge area is a great idea. Can't wait! It will be nice to chat with members who are online.

Welcome all new members! That includes: psychicgary, achilles13690,Starfish, galaxee
brice, billyboy375, DragonLord, kartika, Rationale.
I hope did not miss anyone. It's great to have all of you aboard!! I've been so excited on the amount of traffic and postings that the website/forum has received over the last few weeks. Switching from a Blog to a Forum format made a big difference. Rationale just mentioned a Lounge area. This was also brought up in the first posting on this topic. I think that a chat area/lounge would be a great addition to the website. I will go ahead and add one later this week. It may take a few more months of good traffic before we have a lot of people in the lounge, but it's probably a good idea to get it started early. Let me know if you guys have anymore good ideas.

Talk to everyone soon!

Before retireing here, live in Brevard County Fl and space was also my hobby. Live 18 miles from the launch pads and seen 110 out of 114 shuttle launches before I left. I still write shuttle reports for the New Zealand Spaceflight Assoc. Was president of the Brevard Astronomical Society. Would like to hear from those who have the same interest. Hello all..

My name is F_0_Y.
I am 33
I have loved art as long as i can recall. My drawings have all ways been hmmm odd and almost done in a trance state.
My art has led me countless times to deap thought…In my early teens i found astology and loved it..Found love around that time too,AND loved it. lol I have many thoughts on who, what, where, when and the toughest WHY we are.

The comet 2012 in my thoughts produces no fear to me at all. I do care if others are affraid though. It is my hopes that in places like this here! We can all learn stay together as a human race. If we are on the verge of evolving or passing…More on that later:P But that we all do it as one, together!!!! :)

My name is Howard O'Hara and I live in England, in the UK, at a small town called Pontefract.
I have had 3 definate sightings in my life,[I am 55 now]and firmly believe that there are other beings 'out there'.
I try to look at things rationally, and don't easily jump to conclusions.
I like to paint mainly watercolours, taking photographs, and I also write poetry. I have an interest in, and hold an open mind on, Ufology, and the supernatural.
I'm glad I 'tripped over' this site as I find it quite interesting, and at times informative.
I don't know if anyone has seen the vid on YouTube by John Lear, son of the Bill Lear jet manufctr. I find this guy very credible indeed and some of the things he has to say amazing and mind blowing. Just go to You tube and type in John Lear, there are a couple of amazing talks with him on 9/11 and also on stuff that's gone on on the moon etc.

I was stoned out of my gourd when I came upon this site…I must say it made me even more stoned thinking about watching an actual comet zip across the sky…I now see comets on a nightly (and daily) basis.

In the lounge are we allowed to smoke? I'd enjoy sipping cognac and smoking a good cigar, or other leaf that is available… The math is getting harder…
