I'm not really sure about any of these predictions, but I have to say the Mayans were very good at predicting things.
That is what makes this worrying. I know that people have decided 'the end is nigh' before and it never happened, but even so this theory is backed up by science to a certain extent. Maybe there will be a pole shift, but for all we know it could take billions of years for it to complete the shift and therefor we wouldn't be caught in a catastrophe, but climate change instead.

No-one really knows for sure what's going to happen, so I say we just sit tight and if it happens it happens and if it doesn't it doesn't.

#1. More than half of you : PLEASE!!!! Go educate yourself on galaxies, the solar system, space+time continueum. We are NOWHERE near the galactic centre of the milky way. Take 2 CD's. Take a spec of dust, 1/10000th of an inch from the outer edge, this is where we ( our solar system ) lies in our galaxy. In the history of humankind, we have NOT crossed the galactic centre. The Milky Way is almost 90 million light years across... that would equal around 45 million light years to go around half way right???? How long has Earth / the Sun been around??? A LOT less time than that.... get educated.

#2 There are over 100,000,000 ( one hundred million ) KNOWN, moving asteroids in our solar system. Not ONE is on a collision course with Earth until around 2032... THAT one we should see in the sky during day light hours as it WILL pass between us and the moon. But, the next time that one comes around will be around 2300 or so, giving us LOADS of time to figure out how to detract it / deflect it / destroy it / leave the planet. This one WILL hit us eventually.... It is NOT Niribu / Planet X. It's what is called a 'rouge asteroid' - one in which does not stay in a fixed, elliptical orbit.

All comets that cross our solar plane have been discovered and mathematically tracked through to the year 2500 A.D. Not one will ever pass closer than the moon.... e v e r.

In all actuality, the end of the world will be caused by us. It's in our nature to destroy ourselves. Look at what countries with money spend the most on : military ( except Canada of course, we have no money and no military so that works out perfect ). We ( humans in general ) are so fast to kill someone simply due to a difference of opinion ( hello religion ) and so quick to promote personal growth and gain. If we ALL don't survive... what's the point???

Of course a calendar must be perfect for prediction?

We just go in cycles Boom & Bust, Peace & War, and every now & then we change Hegemonies, rarely though do they go together.
And just because we are on the brink of a new war cycle, does not really have anything to do with a Mayan 2012.

The beliefs of Mayans could be of course right but, our population still doesn't know what was the translation of Mayans scripts, wall paintings, language, beliefs, etc. The Doomsday for Mayans could for example have been the attack on WTC . As Nostradamus said : " Two brothers standing will fall down with rest of civilization humanity"

What have Mayans to our dimension ??? They are like from other. They lived thousands of years ago.
Also, Christianity have nothing to end. All mental universe has been created by us. So, people don't kill yourself by our beliefs.
All this is only our mental creation so we can also decreate that.
Don't make topics with something like that ...... simple people can change everything by only believing in something.
Praying doesn't have an answer when 2 people are praying, but when 1000000000000 people are praying this will happen for real.

I practice ezoterics (don't know how in English) after few sessions I realized that the "second side" is only our minds. That asteroid or other cosmic thing won't crash with earth until we start hardly believe in that.

Why say it's over when someone can send a nuke up to the comet and plant it right in the middle of the dang thing and blow it up making sure it doesn't hit.

The bible says that. But, why would god want to destroy the world anyway. He's the one that created it and the one who created us. So why would he want to kill us??? Some people make no sense to me.

I don't think that the world is necessarily going to end. The predictions made by Nostradamus have been said to have two different meanings. Predictions that have been made could mean that the way of life that we lead now will end and it will get better. I'm not saying that the world WON'T end, I completely believe that it will some day but I truly don't believe it will be soon.
