First off, notice how pretty much all the sites claiming that the world will end in 2012 want you to either buy dvd's from them or books or t shirts? Notice how unprofessional some of these sites look? Notice how they got ads, example Google ads so if you click on them, they earn more money? All these sites are part of the 2012 business, they are using the 2012 topic to take your money! And the ones with the clearly amateur looking sites are clearly not the kind of people you should be listening to on such a subject. Should you listen to me? Well you don't have to, however, notice that sites that say the world won't end in 2012 include sites from actual scientists and such and how they're not asking for your money and how it actually is a professional looking site? Well these are where my sources have come from, so listen to me, from them


THE MAYAN CALENDAR
The 13th Baktun ends on the 21/12/2012 (in case anyone thinks I wrote that date wrong, I'm from Australia and we write the day the month then year) Quite true indeed. Does this mean the world will end on that date? NO. Why not, how would I know?
Here's something that all these money making websites don't tell you and that many of you, probably all don't even know. There are dates on the Mayan calender that go to the year 4772 on the Gregorian Calendar (our 365 day a year calendar) that is nearly 3,000 years away! Why don't any of these doomsday sites mention this date? It's simple, because if they do, they know that people will think "well if there's dates from nearly 3,000 years away then the world isn't ending in 2012, I'm not gonna buy a dvd from this site telling me the world will end in 2012 when the calendar continues for so much longer".
The date to be exact is October 21st, 4772. So as you may have seen on some other sites, the Mayan calendar simply starts again and rolls on into it's next cycle (a certain amount of baktuns fit into 1 piktun) just like how 2008 just finished and rolled into 2009. This date in 4772 also happens to be a very significant date for Mayans. A Mayan King (or something like a King) "Pacal The Great" who died around 1.5 thousand years ago actually predicted that this date will the be the the 80th calendar round since he became the king/leader of a Mayan group. he said this so long ago, when Mayans would've known a lot more about 2012 than what we do now and he never mentioned anything about the world ending in 2012, just this anniversary on October 21st, 4772.

THE BIBLE CODE
I can't believe how anyone believers in the so called "Bible Code".
Firstly, in the Bible Jesus clearly says that no man, none of the Angels in Heaven and not even Jesus himself knows when the end will come, only God knows. Now who would you believe, Jesus, or some person making money off books from a so called code?
The Bible code is worked out by a computer system, you can type in anything and any type of pattern will come up with words regarding to whatever event you typed in.
The things that the Bible code has gotten "right" are things that everyone knew had happened, things from years ago, there are called post dictions, opposite to predictions, for people to believe that is just well :/
The Bible code predicted that there would be a massive nuclear war from the end of 2005 to the end of 2006. One of many predictions that has never happened..........

GALACTIC ALIGNMENT
First off, NASA has said there will be no galactic alignment in 2012 or any year (I will write further down about trusting NASA/Government) 2nd of all, the galactic alignment end of world theory has been used in the past for predictions of the end of the world. One time this was suppose to happen was in 1982. The world was meant to be doomed. Well it's 27 years later and earth looks fine to me. This theory is just one of many being used for 2012, simply because people THINK the Mayan calendar ends then is why all these theories are around

NIBIRU/PLANET X
NASA has said this is not true, it is an internet hoax. If it were true, do you know how many amateur science people would have spotted this by now? If we are suppose to be able to see it with our eyes soon then amateur astronomers or whatever they are called should have been able to spot it from a few years ago and this would be major world news. Well sorry for you Nibiru believers but nothing has been spotted.
Did you know that a theory of Nibiru started by a "psychic" said it was suppose to ruin us all back in 2003? Well this never happened, and like I said above, just one of many past theories being used for people to make money on 2012

ASTEROIDS
Once again from NASA, there's no asteroids heading this way in 2012. The closest year where an asteroid has been put as a risk factor is 2036, but even that has something like a 1 in 400 000 chance of colliding.
If there was a comet coming in 2012, we would've known about this years ago

TRUSTING NASA
Ok now, there's probably a few people here who say things along the lines of "how can you trust NASA if they said the world would end in 2012 imagine all the chaos it would cause". Well let me tell you something. NASA has told us about the 2036 asteroid, they even originally thought it could be a danger in 2014 and released this news to the world. What I am trying to say here is that NASA DO warn us YEARS in advance when there is a potential threat to earth. So if anything was suppose to happen in 2012, we would have known about this 5-10+ years ago, a time too long before the year 2012 that there would be no mass panic on earth, a great time for NASA to release the news if there was suppose to be any, but there never was.
So yeah, for people saying they wouldn't tell us now because of all the panic and chaos it would cause, we would've been told years ago if anything were too happen, just like we have been told with asteroids.
Also, if the government wanted to hide this "truth" from us, then why aren't they using their powers to ban all the 2012 sites that millions of people are visiting? Why aren't they using their powers to stop the production of the 2012 movie that millions of people will see? Simple answer, because they know it isn't true.

The theory i keep seeing on this site is that galactic allignment is linked to the precessional cycle.

For 1, this cycle is the wobble of the earth's axis. The sun does not change its position relative to the stars because of it.

Last year, the sun crossed over the plane of the galaxy 6 degrees to one side of the galactic centre.

Imagine the sun, and then the orbit of the earth around it as a slightly elliptical circle. Then look at that line from the side so that it is edge-on. That line would have to tilt 6 degrees before the sun alligned directly between us and the galactic centre. This is called the inclination of the earth's orbit. I believe the inclination does change, or wobble itself, but of course this is an entirely different cycle, aprox 100 000 years. How could such a long cycle vary by 6 degrees in 3 years. Obviously that is impossible. Ive been looking for the actual recorded rate of variation per year. Probally something like thousandths of a degree. - if I find it Ill add it on.

These theories are simply impossible.

People had forgotten about this book "Davinci Code" that was collecting dust in book stores in the 1970s. Now look at the future of this book!

I am a 6th grader and I think that the world wont end. I think the comet is big but, it wont kill us that's bull**** so how do we know. ASK YOUR SELF! we have been wrong before.

and besides that, in case a lot of people do NOT know, there are two parts to the Mayan calender, they're not looking at the other part, that's why they think that the world will end.

Well, I believe in a shift around this date anyway... just that we see that begins to happen since few years of course. A change of Era in a way...

I heard 2012 was a miscalculation by a non-Mayan guy and that the count rectified by the Mayans keepers of time gives us the Gregorian year 2009. Don't know if it is true, I have to look further.

I think a shift can only be good you know, pollution and s**t have to stop, or it SHALL have an end of the world soon, just because we are stupid enough to kill ourselves with our exponential filth.
