I can't believe I typed swine fever. I just want to point out that Swine Flu and Swine Fever are completely unrelated. It was a slip of the words on my part.
Anyway, experts are predicting a 2% death rate for Swine Flu, it's never going to endanger the future of the human species, apparently it mainly kills those with preexisting respiratory and heart problems, hence why it's proving to be deadly around Mexico City, it's kind of hard to live in the most polluted city in the world and not develop repository problems. But, lets get one thing clear, 1600 people known to be infected, (which means the real figure is more likely to be around 2000) and 150 deaths. That's a death rate of roughly 9%. And there are over 8 and a half million people in Mexico City, let alone the rest of the country, that means that less than 0.01% have actually caught to virus. Hardly a wild fire epidemic, it doesn't spread that fast, it's symptoms are easily treatable with at least two flu medicines. And almost every developed country in the world now has labs working on an anti virus vaccine for it. As far as I'm concerned Swine Flu equals Bird Flu, remember the scare over that, did it go anywhere, did Toronto descend into rioting and carnage, No. HIV is far worse, it's infected more people and has a far higher mortality rate, hell Malaria is a bigger killer than this. I can't see why anyone posting comments about these being the cause of the
end of the world. My deepest sympathies to those families who have lost loved ones to this but for the rest of you, this is nothing but media hype.
Oh and as a side point, Ickes can of Tenants, 'the Scottish land' WTF!!! You've properly just got your name on every Scots and Celts grudge list for calling it that. At the very least it would be the Scots land, or simply Scotland, or if you really want to impress, Caledonia. You've obviously never been there and are so far south of the borders you think that Royal Stewart is the only tartan that exists, so why are you so worried?
