Just for the record , I find it a valid question
quix.
Bassman3223 on the otherhand ......
I don't really think he fully gets it,
"religious people to answer why do you believe in god"indicates where the question comes from.
He just immediately begins with a question, not even using it as a preface for a more in depth answer, observation or opinion,
becaauuse.. the barrage continues.....
Bassman3223 wrote:If not, why?
The second time he considers a question an answer.
Bassman3223 wrote:Do you get anything out of not believing in God?
3rd...Maybe that was why
quix asked.
Bassman3223 wrote:If I told you why I
believe in God, what difference would it make to you?
4th...It might make a huge difference,a chance for you to share your faith, to testify.
Bassman3223 wrote:Why do you care what I believe,
5th...Read the question.I thought it was clear.
Bassman3223 wrote:and even more why in the world would you want to know "what I get out of it."
6th...Read the question....is it that he really just can't answer or consider it...or understand it?
Bassman3223 wrote:Would any answer matter?
7th...Sure it would,and you gave a reason
quix,pretty clear to me.
quix wrote:bring me some sort of understanding.
You didn't get an answer
quix...I imagine you suspect the answer.
Classic
Christian response btw, answer questions with questions, and consider that an answer.I find it a tactic that lets them avoid the question , and when
they don't get a response, they can pat themselves on the back and feel they actually responded.
I enjoy the opportunity to answer any question concerning atheism.....
Epic Fail, they throw away an opportunity to possibly offer a unique personal view, giving insight about their
religion by answering a question concerning it.
It also makes it appear they really can't answer it either, ultimately.
This really is a sore point with me I'll admit, and over the years and in many discussions , it seems rampant within
christian circles.
