Mayan Calendar

Postby 2012annahalf » Sun Feb 15, 2009 10:40 pm

Has anyone displayed the actual Mayan calendar? What's it look like? Are there a bunch of pages filled out, the last one being December, 2012? Exactly HOW does the thing end? Is there a scruntch where the pencil broke, or does the ink gradually fade out to merely scratches on the paper, or is the last day written sideways at the very bottom of the last, wrinkled, tattered page?

As for our modern calendar, mine ends on January 31, 2010! (What's the last page of YOURS say?) Does that mean the end is near?

Also, what about all the calendars that the Gregorian has replaced? What was the last day THEY showed?

I'm not trying to be funny here; I'd really like to know!

To answer part of you question, the Mayan calender has 4 cycles each of which is 26,000 years long.and Google should have a good picture of it.There's one that popped up in a crop field along with a 3d image of an alien grey beside it. Check that one out!

Thanks for the advice... somehow didn't think to look it up myself. Now that I did, one thing struck me as interesting... wikipedia says that mainstream Mayans feel the 2012 catastrophe is bunk. So, in short, this whole idea sounds a lot like foddar for c2cam radio show (don't get me wrong.... I love the show! I just don't believe it is much more than a way people come on the radio to sell their books and newsletters. sorry, George Noory.)

Considering that we have trouble keeping the time straight throughout the year, I'd say what the Mayans did was nothing less than astounding.

The book, Apocalypse 2012, discusses the Mayan calendar as well as encapsulates various scientific predictions of catastrophes. Bottom line, don't worry, be happy."

People keep on saying about the Mayan calendar ending, don't people think that it could just be the calendar ending an old era? And a new era starting that they couldn't predict? Just a thought.

I don't know if the whole Mayans predicting the end of the world thing is true, but I have a friend who strongly believes in Aliens and all this supernatural stuff, and I asked him about it and he said that it's not our 2012 it's theirs, so it would be a different time. For instance it could have been 500 years ago cause that's what they called 2012. I think scientists and experts on the topic would have sorted all that out and worked out that 2012 was the correct time compared to the Mayans, but I'm not sure. Hope I helped.

About the calendar thing. That it's their 2012. I believe that scientists have done all the mathematics and gave the number in our time moreover. When you want to create something new you must destroy something old or at least forsake it. But no worries I will take on the role as god after 2012.

Calendar is just a fake! it has dates and all that stuff.. but the Calendar is lying about the doomsday! You might as well be brain washed with the others who believe it.. but I am sure that a lot more people now a days are not even believing it... who would! it can't come on a specific day!

You can't just say "Oh next week I won't come to school or work because I'm going to be sick"
