Dude "HE WILL RULE FOREVER" ? no, when Jesus does come back, he will take those who believe in him to heaven with him and leave the sinners to die. Maybe u didn't know, but God the Father rules heaven, not Jesus. >.> and u make it seem like little sins will make u considered a sinner, but unless you commit one of the seven deadly sins, you are fine, and even if you did commit one, like murder, as long as you are truly sorry, you're fine.

DRE science doesn't profess to know everything - it is a continuing study. Tell me why we share the same DNA with apes? Why are ALL animals on this earth based on amino acids. Tell me why I can see the milky way, the andromeda galaxy and the magellanic clouds in the sky at night when we know they are much further than 6000 light years distant? Tell me why religion stood in the way of the great scientific advancements only to be proven wrong by science? Why has science shown us so much and brought our race into some actual understanding of ourselves and the world, and yet god has only divided us? Why do the church's opinions evolve to suit the times?

Last of all - Show me the proof that god exists. Not a passage of words from a book, but undeniable proof.
You dont know the first thing about science because you've neaver read any of it. Have a look at evolutionary theory, you will find it is getting stronger every year and is backed by more and more physical evidence and an ever growing number of rational thinkers in this world.

Ok, I beleive in Jesus and totaly agree with whoever said that it is not realistic that something went poof and we were created. It's a bit dull and where is the proof?

DRE - I am looking around me, and I am seeing continuing processes. Stars form out of clouds of hydrogen. We see these clouds all through the universe. These clouds are more dense in some areas and the extra mass of the hydrogen atoms means they have a stronger field of gravity. So more and more hydrogen is pulled into this area. The gas gets more and more dense, hotter and hotter, until fusion begins. Voila - you have a newborn star. We see in telescopes how they form, how they die, how their gravity holds dust and gas around them - and we have even seen planets forming from that material.
Everything is a process caused by interaction of known forces and chemistry. It adds up, and will continue to do so. I think the 'burden of truth' is our finest oddysey as a species of self awareness and curiosity.
Nothing encountered in science ever 'just happens' . Statements like that just prove how little you know of science.
Perhaps you should look around sometime, and consider all the things in the bible that don't add up to the growing proven knowledge that science has gleaned.

So I will continue to look around myself, and 'burden' myself with the TRUTH.
You can keep 'burdening' yourself with supersticious words in a book dating from a time when we didn't know about gravity, or hydrogen clouds, or thermo dynamics or cosmology.

Oh and 'God' does divide us. Do you really not realise how many conflicting religions there are. How many religious wars there have been. How many different opinions there are even in the same religions? You look around for a change. And opinions like yours on abortion and homosexuality, are great dividers too.
Id even go as far as saying the concept of religion has probally ended more lives than any other motivator. Not bad for a species made in his image dont you think?

'Homos' - you should be discusted with yourself, you actually think homosexuality is a choice!?! Its the way they are, one day medical research will find out why. In the meantime, they are not hurting anyone and are both good and bad people just like anybody else. I hope attitudes like yours on the subject die a quick death.

in my opinion religion and science have both got down sides

religion has confusing parts like some saint said some thing but the next person interpreted it to be something else which makes branches and no one knows what to follow eg the bible is being changed all the time if you take the first one ever published it will say something different to the latest one a bit like Chinese whispers.

science has good points and bad points some times it sounds like a fairy tale to me but other times it makes real sense and works with my logic. eg my science teacher said we were made up of atoms and elements and long long ago chemical reactions happened to make us,etc... but what i don't get is the part before that ok so there was a big bang but what caused it?

i wont even ask you that because scientists have the answer from watching other stars...etc has any one seen a universe being created? what about before the big bang what made the universe happen there must be something behind it. eg. god, the unseen, Allah, rub, bhagavan... science has its limits!

Hi there Zoya, your 100% right.
The big bang is the best theory we have of how the universe began. The evidence we have collected so far has led to this theory being the most likely scenario.
But of course we don't know how it happened. Some people think it came from nothing which I don't buy, some think it was a result of a process in another universe. Some think there are an infinite amount of different universes. Science predicts that there may be 10 or 11 dimensions in this universe alone. Me I love these mysteries - they are awe-inspiring

Point is that I agree with you - science has limits, but science doesn't tell you how this or that happened if it is unable to provide evidence for this or that. A theory is not set in stone the way the bible is. Scientists the world over work together, and produce mutualy benificial results - unlike religions. All in all, science makes so much more sense - it has proven so much, and given us insights that belief in a god never could.
One day science might get people like your sister out of wheelchairs, and prevent or even cure people like my sister.
Me, Im cool with the fact that we don't understand the big picture yet - i think mysteries like that are what drive humans to want to understand more.
But some of us i think are scared by the unknown - and i personally think this fear is the root of supersticions and religion.

But make your own decision Zoya, because science doesn't require you to 'believe in it or else'. Study it and it's good points will become obvious, and its 'bad' points will never fail to make you wonder.
If religion ends up making more sense to you - go for it. Because there truly are some great lessons in religion, morals and ethics that, if were followed by all of us regardless of our beliefs, would make this world a better place for all.

Seems many humans have trouble accepting that we just don't know. Me, as i said above, I love the mystery.

Say the BB was some kind of an overspill from another universe (just as we wonder at the nature of black holes in our own)- we will never see that other universe because we are stuck within the boundaries of our own.
So even though there proberly is a reason for the BB we may never know it.

Science will never lead you to a god; will never be able to prove the concept.

So your left with 2 options

Logical annalysis and deduction
or
Faith

ddd i also love the mystery/myseries which is why i read a lot; i gives you an idea of the possibilities!

what i think i am going to do in my life is firstly follow my mums footsteps and become a capable scientist and doctor

i want to reaserch into this stuff to get a better understanding so i can make the decision and choose what is best for my self
but for now all i have to do is study hard, get the grades and find out more if you have any usefull information please share it with me
