Secret codes in a work of fiction ? Aliens  ? This theory is like something out of Monty Python  .

As for God, go read "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins. As the T-shirt slogan says "The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully."

Too true. Those bible-thumping nutters that go around telling children they will burn in hell if they sin should be prosecuted for child abuse. Never mind climate change, the biggest favour you could do for the planet is to eliminate religion.

The Mayans went from being the smartest humanoids in the ancient world...to picking cherries in California. Go figure...

I was brought up as a christian. I lost faith in while attending school. No sad story as to why just one day while in anatomy we were studying the human nervous system. When i put 2 and 2 together it no longer made any sense. When we die we are placed into the ground and belief goes our spirit leaves our body and either goes to purgatory or strait to heaven or hell.

Now if i were sent to hell it is said that i would spend eternity in pain from the flames of hell. Now thinking logically that would not be possible without a nervous system. No nerves no feeling.

So after i come to this conclusion that i would be immune to the flames of hell without a nervous system I started thinking well what about heaven surely its not all its cracked up to be either. Then well it was quite obvious. If i were to go to heaven what would I want? Well me myself would want to be rejoined with my loved ones to live happily ever after. But say they don't meet the requirements to get into heaven. Then what? Well heaven for me wouldn't be enjoyable to me if i cant be joined with my loved ones so yea i guess I'm screwed on that one.

I find it quite interesting that in this day and age there are still people living by a book that tells you you have the right to do what you want with your slaves. A book that says if your teenagers are disobedient you are to take them into the center of town to be stoned by the community. A book that says a woman does not have the right to speak out in church and should only ask questions to her husband outside of church. A book written and edited by man.

This is just the new testament. The old testament goes as far as sacrificing animals to pay for sins.

Cultism like behavior if you ask me. Now I know you're probably thinking well they don't do that anymore. Of course not times have changed. People have grown smarter everybody is closer to equality, but there are those who still believe in Christianity.

I am a descendant of the Indigenous Australian (Aboriginal).
Aborigines have the longest continuous cultural history of any group of people on Earth - dating back - by some estimates - 65,000 years.
Dreamtime is Aboriginal Religion and Culture.
All those thousands of years, our 'religion' has had no need for a god or a jesus to save us. And we definately have no need for a bible and its teachings, although it makes a good argument.

We do have a complex system of law and spiritual respect and understanding of our creator/s. And have been left alone in peace and harmony for all our existence as a species.

Until aliens from the northern hemisphere came and brought these gods, jesus the bible and prophets just over 200 years ago, in 1788.

Why would a community like ours be living for centuries in this state of peace in a well honed existence be interrupted by these aliens with a gun at our heads to believe in such nonsense.

I can tell you why. It is that WE ARE ALREADY SAVED, and we're merely waiting for people such as christians muslims budhists and all the other new age religions on earth today, to set aside material things and awaken the true spiritual nature you we're all blessed with but moved away from.
All these modern religions are the .ROOT OF ALL EVIL and probably needed a saviour to save you from yourselves with all the evil that exists among yourselves
We have no respect for such evil or its short history.

We still to this day interact with our creator/s and more frequently since the eightys. They have told us just to sit and 'wait' and we will become a service to others when the time does arrive.

I can go on and on about when and what is to be in the near future, but we are a 'closed' society according to our ancient laws.
No where on this website or any website in fact has nothing said about us the Aborigines of Australia with what we know today of the future.
One thing I can tell you though is we new about your President Obama being elected to office since 2003.
We sit and wait in humble expectation of due outcomes.

Thank You
Elder of Arrente/Anangu Pitantjara skin grouping.

I read the passage written about "God does not exsist". He does exist and every day we get closer to meeting God. And the writer needs to spell OF correctly. Of is spelled o-f, not o-f-f. Thank you and God Bless.

Hey Ian, surely you could pick on something more important?

By the way, it's exist - not exsist.

Not that I really care, but considering you sound pretty anal and all, just thought you should know>? ;)

Hmmm...As a real live scientist let's see if I have got this right....

There was a Big Bang that just happened oh...about 15 thousand million years ago...by chance. (One thousand million is equal to one American billion. But it takes a million millions to equal one British billion. So I write my numbers as thus...)

400,000 years after that event, the Big Bang, light happened...by chance.

This energy coagulated to the elemental particles...by chance.

The elemental particles formed into elemental Hydrogen...by chance.

The Hydrogen was clumped into heavier clouds until the gravitational fields spawned nuclear furnaces, the first stars...by chance.

The stars, not to bore you with the details of the Carbon threshold, created the lighter elements...by chance.

Second generation stars were created and then third generation stars were created, thus creating the heavier elements...by chance.

Anyway, some 11 thousand million years ago in a galaxy near and dear to me, our very own Milky Way, an accretion disk formed about a cloud of gas to create a third generation star...by chance.

On the planet, formed in the third gravitational trough outward from the star, oceans were created...by chance.

In the reducing atomsphere of this newly formed planet a lightning bolt struck a pond that was rich in complex amino acids...by chance.

Somehow, some way, and not a scientist whom I have spoken with has a real clue as to how this trick was pulled off, ribonucleic acid (RNA) and, because of the reducing atmosphere, deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), were synthesized...by chance.

Then somehow, by methods that we haven't dreamed of, this DNA and RNA combined with other chemicals to make the first primordial self replicating cellular life forms...by chance.

Some of these cellular life forms organized themselves into worms, simple digestive tracts...by chance.

The worms evolved to more complex and more organized life forms (Which just happens to be a violation of the thermodynamic laws of enthalpy-entropy)...by chance.

Somehow the reducing atmosphere turned into an oxygenating atmosphere...by chance.

Thus the evolution of the creatures of the Earth occured...symbiosis between plant and animal life...minor organisms to complex organisms...Darwinian selection...ordered...not chaotic...by chance (Isn't chance a form of random chaos?) That in itself is contradictory. But for argument's sake I'll concede it.

Then 100,000 years ago some humanoids were formed from eons of evolution...by chance.

They developed self awareness...by chance.

Throughout the past 100,000 years their societies became more ordered and more complex...from chaotic to organized...by chance. (That damned second law of thermodynamics just keeps getting in my way. Enthalpy to Entropy...Order to Chaos...But for argument's sake...)

As a matter of fact, 100.000 years later, it is just by mere chance that you understand these symbols that you read on your cathode ray tube...or your plasma screen...which I am using to communicate this idea to you? Aren't these symbols random? Don't you have the despair of dyslexia? Yeah!!! Right!!!

Can't you see why I cannot buy into this argument? It is weak. It is so weak that it is ridiculous, that is, worthy of ridicule. The problem with this is so simple. If the Universe has a design, any design, then it implies a Designer by its mere existence. That Designer is God and the existence of you and I is what makes the argument for atheism so very, very weak and ridiculous.

According to some of my colleagues there is a chance, by the laws of Quantum Mechanics, that I can step out of my front door and materialize on the surface of Mars. You don't buy that? Well...I do. I understand complex mathematics. I understand probability. I am a Physicist. I am a genius. I have an elevated I.Q. I am smarter than every 100 people that I meet...on average. (Yet, because of my social circle, I have to bias that a little to the smarter side. So maybe I am smarter than every 50 people that I meet...on average.) So I do understand that there is a remote chance of my walking (rather gasping) on Mars without a spacesuit. (It just would be too bad that I'd not live to tell of my adventure.) But there is a much, much greater chance of that happening than that of the Universe being created by chance.

So is that arrogance...or just mere fact...or maybe it is a coinherent? But I'd adopt a little more humility if someone will state that he doesn't know when, most certainly, he does not... "God doesn't exist." Bah!!! That statement is the epitomy of arrogance. It is so sad, so very sad that it is laughable. I'd rather laugh than cry.

It takes a greater leap of faith to deny the existence of a Designer than to understand and accept the existence of the Supreme. All I need do to see Him is open my eyes. The mathematics is His language. Jesus Christ is Lord.
