All comets are alien. Alien = foreign item, object or being not native to a local area or environment.

Protect them from what? And if it WERE something the size of a comet, what could you or possibly believing do to protect them? If they all believe, will they get magical powers, like the care bears, which will shoot out of their chest and take down this HUGE comet?
Trying to get your friends to believe in something that isn't factual almost sounds cultist like. Are they not wanting to taste the punch or something? lol
