So to all you Christian folk out there I ask this, when the supposed Anti-christ destroys the world, will he do it on purpose?

Another question, people keep talking about how Obama may be the Anti-christ, so to all you firm believers in this, when you picture the "world" ending, is it just the United States that gets destroyed? Does anyone have any stories of possible Antichrists in other countries? I mean I know you guys are powerful, and the Mayans mentioned something about North America, but still, there is a whole big world out there with lots of yucky people. I guess I'm looking for some non-American opinions on this one.

Check the new testament and you will find all the information that you requested...But think about this for a minute. All the great civilizations like the Mayans, the Romans, Persians, etc.. they have ended to make room for a bigger and powerful one.

Hello, I'm from the UK and I don't know if the Anti-christ knows he's the Anti-christ but we now have an awful prime minister - Gordon Brown. He's always interfering in other countries and he's creating a Big Brother state in the UK. He tells all the other countries what they should do, like how to deal with fiscal policies in the global economic crisis. Who does he think he is ? Now he's promising the British public massive tax cuts but the British will only have to pay for it massively some time in the future. All he has ever done is tax, tax, tax the public. And he's always telling the rest of the world what they should do. It looks like he is setting the scene for the New World Order, a sure sign of the Anti-christ.

Yes. I'm a Roman Catholic priest.....The anti-christ will submit himself to the devil. He hates god and he knows who he is. He will persecute whoever does not follow the devil and worship him.

Gordon Brown - I'd agree if he wasn't so incompetent. I'm from the UK too and cannot understand how this man is in power without being elected.

I'm also extremely concerned about the way he proposes to push Britain through the global financial crisis, borrowing what 20 billion and having to pay back something like 120 billion in the future, it's like sub prime lending to government.....i think he's out of his depth, but I think Blair is a lot more likely to be the anti-christ LOL - seriously I don't believe that but Brown is tame compared to Blair in my opinion.

Right now tax payers are bailing out banks who will continue to profiteer off the people they are taking their 'survival' money from....now how can that be right? If this is the case taxpayers should now own the banks!! Some of these same taxpayers will lose their homes and so on because of the mess that has been created. Plain and simple. The whole system stinks. It seems the whole thing is designed to keep us working harder for less. If someone is getting less, then someone else is getting more.

If the banks have failed and taxpayers are the only ones who can bail out these institutions, then the people/shareholders etc. should lose their grip on the companies and it should revert to the people. I may be economically naive so maybe someone can explain why we should be paying for other peoples mistakes and getting nothing but hardship back from it? Maybe I misunderstand totally, so I'd welcome any feedback. It just feels like a raid on the tax coffers to me.

There has always been an anti-christ on this earth. The devil has no idea when Jesus will return so there has always been an anti-christ in place ready to move forward.

The antichrist is one who denies God. Anyone can be an anti-christ yet the one I suppose your thinking of is the main power laden one who arises to fool the people, kill and guide them through fear and hatreds of those who follow the word of God on a massive scale. He will most likely come from Europe. What I don't understand is all look for an anti-christ instead of not fearing and turning to God and learning what you did not know. Those who are with God and follow the ways of the lessons of the Saviour Jesus, fear not any man nor his ways. Survival without God and his plan are useless and you fall into the realm of Satan thereby unknowingly supporting any Antichrist.
No man can have it both ways, if you reason against the word then Anti-christ you be. It's not hard to understand submission to God or Satan even if your short life here tells you any different. I often wonder how many billions of people have tried to argue against a creator whose been around since the created world and stand to believe as if they know best when they've only been here for a short brief time in history. There is Christ and antichrist and you get freedom of choice as to whom you want to be with. Afraid of death? DO not fear unless you are not with God but as you've probably heard before, Get right of suffer your soul for an eternity. Your choice, have a grand day brothers and sisters.

Why do you Christians always talk about matters that require faith as if they are fact?
It is just YOUR belief. I'd love to hear some of you say 'this is what we believe'....but instead you always make reference to the fact that anyone in doubt MUST accept the message or be doomed.

This is not even something you can prove to yourself. It is something that requires your faith.

This is what I believe. If I choose to pick up the bible, what I will know is that I am reading a version that has been through the editorial process of the middle ages.

I'd also think can someone please explain what Jesus was doing between the ages of 12 and 30. I'd also want to know what happened to the many thousands/millions of souls that existed in B.C. times.....since they could not have accepted the word of a religion that did not exist in it's current format, did that automatically make them 'anti-christs' as you put it?

I'm not disputing the religion, I am Christian by baptism, although non-practicing.....what I'm saying is that it is not right to state that people like me have something to fear from not believing what you do. I can be a good person without being religious and it's my hope that if a god exists he/she it, will accept that. If that is not the case, then I am a slave and this entity is my enemy!!

What if the early Christians hadn't destroyed all or most of the ancient knowledge after causing the downfall of the Roman's? What if the dark ages never happened? What if the industrial revolution happened 700 years ago and space flight a hundred years later? Where would humans be now if religion hadn't held us back? What a wonderful world it could be!

Since the question is not directly answerable by the Judeo/Christian scriptures, we are simply left with speculation.

The Greek word for "anti" can mean "false" (as in pseudo) as well as "against". So, it can mean anyone who is a false messiah. History is full of such people. At the same time, the biblical references do indeed indicate one final individual who is spoken of as the "man of lawlessness" who will take advantage of that last generation which has fallen away from or abandoned the historic faith of the Church.

The scriptures declare that there are (and have always been) many antichrists. As a result, It would be fair to guess that many of them knew they were not the Christ (Messiah), and some that thought they might be a messiah of sorts. Those who know they are not are deceivers, and the rest are delusional (at best). The Anti-christ (capital A) is represented as being very arrogant and boastful ... very full of himself.

My best guess is that the final Antichrist has spent much time in the esoteric and arcane teachings of the Kabala, as well as the many masonic traditions espoused by Pike in Morals and Dogma. He knows the terminology of the Bible and Christian doctrine, but his understanding is quite different from that of the Church's - something he is likely quite aware of as well. He will most likely privately believe that he is one of the wise and enlightened souls who knows the ancient "secrets". He is also likely a proponent of the idea that Lucifer is a good guy - the enlightener of mankind.

If he is a willing pawn of Lucifer (as I suspect he will be), then he is a deceived deceiver.

We will have to wait a bit longer to see which figure rises up with a "solution" to our economic problems and those of the Middle East. So far, none of the individuals on the world stage have names or titles that numerologically add up to 666 in Greek or Hebrew. But from all of the New World Order efforts taking place, the forces of darkness are certainly jockeying for positions of prominence.
