Theories about the end of the world are complete nonsense. Planet earth, with us on it, is just one small part of the universe. So even if planet earth falls apart and we are all dead, this is not the end of the world, in neighboring planetary systems or even other galaxies nobody will notice, other worlds will go on as usual.
Every few seconds somewhere in space one planet is destroyed and nobody, except a few astronomers, pays attention to it.
Good end to us all.

:ugeek: The Mayans are still around smart ones. :P. They are still a respected ethnic group in Mexico. If you walk up to a Mayan elder in Mexico and ask him what's going to happen in 2012. He won't know anything besides it's the Mayan 13th anniversary of creation. THAT'S WHY THE CALENDAR ENDS! 13 was a sacred number in Mayan Belief.

I agree with you on some levels. First of all it makes no sense that so may Christians would believe in the Mayan prophecy. It's against their religion!! Secondly I would say that your take on Mayan religion is every bit of wrong. You are assuming that the Mayans were talking in literal terms when speaking of gods, sun, sacrifice beginnings etc... I do agree that the world will not end on that date however, it's not because of the bible by any means!!! That's why I support http://www.ilove2012.com and follow http://www.twitter.com/ilove2012
