Hey I was thinking...can anyone try to determine the exact time that the alignment happens. The idea is to use an astronomy program(stelarium, deep space explorer etc.) that can simulate deep space objects and that select S-7A(supermasive black hole/center of our galaxy), select sun(our SUN ) and set date to 21 12 2012. Then observe at what time the alignment will happen. I would do it myself but I don t know how to work with the program, it's kind of complicated. And then post it here please.

The sun doesn't align with the galactic centre in 2012, it's an optical illusion caused by our position in the galaxy. Even if it did, the centre is 280,000 light years away, and would have absolutely no affect on the Earth.

The diameter of our galaxy is 100,000 light years...so there is no way the center is 280,000 light years away. It's about 30,000 light years away, still that does not change the situation about its effect on us. The sun does align with the center of the galaxy from the earths perspective and most people say something will happen because of it. If each cycle is 5125 years and ends with a cataclysm than one cycle back about 3000 BC is the time when we have many stories about disease and famine and naturals disasters (the Egyptian catastrophes). If we go two cycles back 10250 years ago, that is the time when Atlantis supposed to have sunk and when the Great flood was supposed to have happened (modern research) and many cultures across the globe that didn't even know about each other until 18th century will tell you stories about Atlantis and the Deluge. 10,000 years ago is also the time when Würm ice age (the last mayor ice age) ended.

Is it just a coincidence that so many cultures around the world believed in the same things and didn't know each other? And it all coincides with the Mayan calendar. We are now at the end of the final cycle and if the stories are correct this one ends with the greatest destruction of them all. There is a lot of evidence about civilizations that predate Egypt and Mesopotamia for millenia (including underwater pyramids). But the ruling elite won't accept this (I don't know why) so you can not hear about it in mass media and no expeditions are taken to explore this. I know a lot about physics and I have no idea why would an alignment have any effect on earth but many prophets and many ancient cultures tell us that something will happen.

I meant to say 28,000 light years, but my point still stands. Saying that the sun aligning with the galaxy will affect Earth is like saying that you shouldn't drive at sunset because you'll crash into the sun.
If you 'know a lot about physics', why are you trusting the predictions of ancient civilizations who had no concept of gravity or astrophysics?

If you are catholic, you should not believe any of this. The bible says that yes, people will be able to predict the future, but NOBODY will be able to predict when the world will end. Only God knows the time and date of the end of the world. Believe in God. We have nothing to worry about.
